Doing things better than before and “figuring stuff out” is in my blood.
I believe it’s literally in my blood. If there is a gene for the skill of process improvement and self learning, then my family definitely have it.
Getting stuff done and trying to find better ways to do things is important when resources are thin on the ground.
All my siblings and I have grown up to be “those people” when it comes to getting stuff done or suggesting better ways to do things and as the youngest of nine (yes you read that right) children, the ‘nurture‘ effect had well and truly been embedded by the time I was an adult even if the ‘nature‘ wasn’t.
Before founding Kits & Bits, I specialised in software projects and business process documentation for both small businesses and large organisations such as Curtin University and BHP Billiton Iron Ore.
Throughout my career, I often found myself scratching my head and thinking ‘there must be a better way to do this!‘
As a systems trainer, I found giving someone the simplest of shortcuts that would have them exclaiming “OMG that’s going to save me hours” or “wow – I didn’t know that existed” or on really good days “where have you been all my life“.
I want to save small business owners time and money in their business, every day, so that they can find that elusive “spare” time and use it to do what they love.
Nobody at the end of life, wishes they’d spent more time at work.
My business Kits and Bits was founded on the idea of finding a work life balance for myself and my clients and using (nearly) all of the skills I’ve picked up over the years.
My Mum used to say that she’d had “elegant sufficiency” if someone offered her more food when she’d had enough to eat.
I think my services are a bit like that. Only what you need (for now), no more.
I’m direct, flexible & no fuss. I don’t waste your time or mine or give you stuff you can’t or won’t use.

While many entrepreneurs are out to make their millions, my end goal is to work less while being financially free.
I want to inspire my family, friends and colleagues to take on a new hobby, job, career or business.
I want them to know it’s possible to have a job you love, pay the bills and not be exhausted (not there yet, but on my way).
I want anybody that has been living small with an idea in the back of their mind to just give it a crack and see what happens.
My business serves a greater purpose. To do good in the world!
I share my skills with charities who normally couldn’t afford a professional like me. I’ve already provided more than $5K in pro-bono services and I plan to do more.
I love the idea of the ripple effect of me helping charities who in turn, feeling less overwhelmed and with better resources, can help more of their clients.
I can’t wait to reap the physical and emotional effects of doing good in the world with my business as well as personally.
I want to see relief on my clients faces or hear it in their voice.
I want the physical “ahhh”.
